You Were Never Meant to Do This Alone

There’s a quiet ache I’ve noticed in so many women I work with—something deep and unspoken that lives beneath the surface. It’s the belief that we’re supposed to carry our pain alone. That no one could understand what we’re holding. That it’s too much, too complicated, or too shameful to share.

This is especially true for women who have experienced abortion.
There’s an invisible weight many carry: the grief they were never allowed to feel, the anger they weren’t given permission to express, the shame that crept in when they were most vulnerable.

And for so many, the silence has been deafening.

But I want you to hear this, clearly and gently:
You were never meant to do this alone.

Healing is not meant to be a solitary experience. It’s meant to happen in connection—with others, with your body, with your story, and with something greater than yourself.

Right now, I’m walking alongside a group of brave women inside my 6-week healing journey, Beyond the Choice. This week we moved through one of the most powerful pieces of our work together: Sacred Rage.

So many of us were never taught how to express our anger. It wasn’t safe. It wasn’t “feminine.” And so it got buried…
Buried beneath guilt.
Buried beneath the idea that we should “just be grateful.”
Buried beneath shame and silence.

But here’s the truth: sacred rage is part of healing.
It’s not destructive—it’s clarifying.
It’s not something to suppress—it’s something to listen to.

And when we allow that rage to surface in a safe, supported space, something extraordinary happens.
We reclaim our power.
We release what no longer belongs to us.
And we begin to come home to ourselves.

There were tears this week. Tender moments. Brave shares.
But most of all, there was connection.
Because something sacred happens when women come together to heal. We remember we’re not alone. And in that remembering, healing becomes not just personal—it becomes collective.

If you’ve been walking this path alone, I want you to know that you don’t have to anymore.
There is a circle for you. There is space for your story. There is support here that honors your wholeness—not just the parts you’ve been told are acceptable.

I've gathered a collection of tools and offerings on my Resources page to support you—whether you’re just beginning this journey or looking for deeper support. These include journaling prompts, emotional check-ins, self-paced healing tools, and ways to work with me directly, either one-on-one or in community.

Because when we heal together, we heal the world.
And we begin to create a future where women are honored in their full humanity—no matter the choices they’ve made, or the stories they carry.

With love and solidarity,
Jennifer
